As Finance Director, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial direction of our trust, ensuring accurate month-end accounting, budget preparation, and forecasting.

Your New Role:
In this key position, you will oversee the financial requirements and processes across our schools, supervising a small team of three finance professionals. You will be responsible for managing month-end tasks, working closely with stakeholders to ensure they understand financial data, and making informed decisions to drive business growth. Key responsibilities include:
  1. Managing financial activities, including accounts payable and receivable
  2. Preparing monthly management reports and forecasts
  3. Developing and implementing financial strategies to optimize performance


Requirements and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will require strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in financial management. A formally qualified accountant (e.g., ACA or ACCA) or QBE with experience in month-end accounting is essential. Additionally, you must be able to work effectively with non-financial personnel, maintaining partnerships and driving collaboration across the organization. The ideal candidate will also possess:
  • Familiarity with local government pension schemes
  • Knowledge of education sector regulations and compliance
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting software


Compensation Package:
We offer a competitive salary of £65,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus an enhanced local government pension scheme. Our benefits package includes generous leave entitlements, flexible working arrangements, and opportunities for professional development.
