About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Technician to join our Low Carbon Technology Team at Electricity North West (ENWL). As a Design Technician, you will play a crucial role in assessing applications for the installation of Low Carbon Technology at domestic properties, including Electric Vehicle Charge Points, Heat Pumps, and Solar Panels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess applications for Low Carbon Technology installations and complete associated network studies
  • Design, value, and quote low voltage connections for Low Carbon Technology installations
  • Manage low voltage connections associated with Low Carbon Technology installations, including fast track G99 applications for solar panels
  • Ensure designs meet Electricity North West policy and standards of compliance
  • Adhere to Ofgem's standards and provide accurate forecasts of information for projects under your control
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure customers receive a positive experience when dealing with ENWL
Requirements
  • Understanding of Low Voltage networks
  • Knowledge of low carbon technology, including Electric Vehicle charge points, Heat Pumps, and Solar Panels
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role, ideally within the utility industry
  • Minimum qualification of an ONC or equivalent in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or willingness to study towards this
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills with good analytical reasoning
  • A full UK driving licence
