We are seeking a highly skilled Building Services Design Engineer (Mechanical) to join our multidisciplinary team at Lancashire County Council. As a key member of our Asset Management Service, you will contribute to delivering a comprehensive capital programme that invests in the county council's property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Design and project manage new and replacement heating plant, heating systems, hot and cold water, gas, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Collaborate with technical specialists and partners to deliver projects within budget, in a timely, safe, and professional manner.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to decarbonise building services, including the use of low and zero-carbon technology such as heat pumps, solar thermal, and heat recovery ventilation.
- Support the Mechanical Project Manager in the technical application, management of project budgets, health and safety, and training opportunities.
- Relevant experience in building services design (mechanical) with a focus on decarbonisation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to positively challenge and influence multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, with a purposeful approach and tactful handling of challenges.
- Knowledge of current guidelines, standards, and regulations related to building services design and decarbonisation.
