About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cleaning Operative to join our team at Childer Thornton School in Ellesmere Port. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within the educational premises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, emptying of litter bins, polishing and dusting of designated areas, including toilets and shower areas, and fixture and fittings, using powered equipment where necessary.
  • Movement of items of furniture.
  • Relieving and assisting in other establishments in certain circumstances.
  • Attending to and taking necessary action in the event of accidents, fires, loss, theft, lost property, damage, unfit food, or other irregularities, and completing necessary returns and reports.
  • Attending meetings as requested.
  • Duties may vary between term and closure periods.
  • Pursuing personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance of the role.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable tasks required from time to time to enable the company to remain adaptable to changing markets and needs.
  • Complying with Company rules, policies, and procedures at all times.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience as a cleaner with associated Health and Safety training. You will have excellent customer service skills and enjoy working as part of a team. The role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS Check.

Working Hours

The role is part-time, with 12.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3pm-5.30pm, term-time only, with deep cleaning over some weeks in school holidays. The salary is £10.90 per hour (equated). We offer competitive benefits and a stable working environment.
