Director of Quantity Surveying

Egis Group is a leading global consulting and engineering firm, delivering innovative solutions for construction, transport, and mobility services. As a Director of Quantity Surveying, you will play a key role in driving business growth and development for our UK-based consultancy firm, Thomas & Adamson.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of quantity surveyors in delivering high-quality services to clients, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
  • Develop and implement cost management strategies, including life cycle costing, value management, and engineering, to optimize project outcomes.
  • Administer all project work in line with Egis Group policies, practices, and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Network and support business development objectives, identifying new opportunities and building relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Participate in and deliver continuous professional development activities, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Manage fees, including bid/fee proposal preparation and submission, fee forecasting, and management of negative profit and aged debt.
  • Actively participate in management of the business as part of the Senior Management Team, contributing to strategic decision-making and goal-setting.
  • Resource management and project allocation/task delegation to team members, ensuring effective use of resources and meeting project deadlines.
Requirements:
  • RICS-accredited quantity surveying degree.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of bespoke construction IT systems, such as CATO, CostX, and Microsoft Project.
  • Range of strong core QS skills, reflected in successful project delivery across various industry sectors.
  • Familiarity with current forms of contract, such as JCT and NEC.
  • Strong negotiation skills and expertise in contract interpretation.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Team management/leadership skills.
