Laboratory Technician

At Eurofins UK Food Testing, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Weekend Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Weekend Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of our laboratory, working closely with our team to complete testing to the required quality standards and internal methods/procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out registration and processing of food samples in line with quality standards and written methods/procedures.
- Conduct reading/confirmation tests, media QC, IQC, environmental monitoring in line with quality standards and written methods/procedures.
- Adhere to documented procedures for the relevant section of the laboratory, ensuring accurate recording of information, proper handling of samples, and maintenance of quality data.
- Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
- Wear personal protective clothing equipment in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.
- Have a thorough understanding of the Laboratory Quality Manual to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and associated documents.
- Assist in meeting the requirements of the UKAS accreditation standard through best practice.
- Provide exceptional internal and external customer care.
- Perform other reasonable tasks as delegated by the line manager.
- Degree or equivalent in science.
- Understanding of ISO 17025, UKAS, key customer requirements, audit procedures, methods, etc.
- Experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory.
- Excellent organisational and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Reliability and thoroughness.
- Willingness to take on responsibility.
