Surgical Ward 3 Overview

The Surgery, Theatres, Anaesthetics and Endoscopy Care Group at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an inspirational nurse to lead Surgical Ward 3, a female surgical ward caring for patients via elective and non-elective surgical pathways.

The ward specialises in gynaecology and general surgery, and our Care Group focuses on nurse development opportunities and striving for outstanding care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team on Surgical Ward 3.
  • Lead and develop the nursing team in the care of surgical patients and assist in clinical competency development.
  • Deliver expert, holistic care to patients and their relatives at King's College Hospital.
  • Act as a clinical resource within the ward and across the Care Group.
  • Demonstrate effective clinical leadership and delegation abilities, with a focus on patient care and safety.
  • Undertake managerial responsibilities, ensuring staff management is safe, effective, and within budget.
  • Contribute to recruitment and retention programmes and work with the multi-disciplinary team to enhance patient care and experience.
  • Emphasise the importance of patient confidentiality and delivering high-quality, patient-focused services.
