Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. This is a part-time role, working 3 days a week at Okehampton Hospital, as part of the Exeter and Okehampton S< Team.

The ideal candidate will have a recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification, full registration with the Health Professions Council, and registered membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. They will also have experience in managing complex caseloads, working autonomously, and delivering language development training to professionals and untrained staff.

This role offers a competitive salary of £32,780 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) using evidenced-based practice.
  • Provide clinical support and supervision to less experienced SLTs.
  • Co-ordinate clinic operations and oversee day-to-day caseload management.
  • Participate in student placements and contribute to team audits and outcome monitoring.
  • Promote service user participation across the service.

Requirements:

  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Full Registration with Health Professions Council.
  • Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Experience in managing complex caseloads and working autonomously.
  • Ability to deliver language development training to professionals and untrained staff.
