Job Details

Fife Council's Out of School Clubs are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Childcare Practitioners. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and fun environment for children and young people while their parents/carers attend work, training, or further education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and Supervise Activities: Work collaboratively with colleagues to design and deliver a wide range of play-based activities and experiences that promote learning and development.
  • Set Up Play Spaces: Create engaging and inviting play areas that encourage children to explore their creativity and imagination.
  • Encourage Independence: Support children to develop their interests, confidence, self-esteem, and life-long skills.
  • Provide Nutritious Snacks: Assist in preparing healthy snacks that cater to dietary and nutritional needs.
  • Handle Accidents/Incidents: Respond promptly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Assist with Record Keeping: Support the Senior Childcare Practitioner in maintaining accurate records and ensuring a smooth operation.

Requirements

  • Experience of working with children and young people in a play, care, or learning setting.
  • Willingness to work towards the SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or already hold a suitable qualification.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
