Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Archivist to lead our digital preservation efforts and manage our archive collections. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of our digital assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of digital preservation strategies and policies.
  • Manage and maintain our digital archive collections, ensuring they are properly cataloged, stored, and made accessible to users.
  • Collaborate with our team to ensure the integration of digital preservation practices into our overall archive management strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in digital preservation and apply this knowledge to improve our practices and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of our digital assets.

Requirements:

  • Post-graduate archive qualification with at least 3 years' experience of working in an archive.
  • Experience of being involved with the development and implementation of future changes.
  • Knowledge of key aspects of digital preservation.
  • Excellent digital skills and the ability to grasp technological concepts rapidly and understand their applicability to an archive environment.
  • Good general knowledge of, or an interest in, the historic environment of Wales.
