Job Overview

Austin Fraser is seeking a skilled Project Planning Specialist to support the planning and project function. This role involves working independently to initiate and complete tasks, including supervising or guiding others when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop short-term and detailed project programmes with the Planner/Project Manager, incorporating critical path, float, and logic into Power Project (or P6) as applicable.
  • Calculate activity durations from quantities and outputs.
  • Explain key terms such as Critical Path, Free Float, and Total Float.
  • Identify project critical success factors for the programme.
  • Prepare weekly progress dashboards using data provided by project teams.
  • Report on project activities' progress and potential early warnings.
  • Understand and deliver client reporting requirements.
  • Assist in completing the Project Management Report, including planning sections.
  • Maintain 'as-built' programmes based on weekly progress information, including activity start and finish dates.
  • Keep a schedule of 'as-built' outputs.
  • Produce phasing, logistics, and timeslice plans under the guidance of the Planner/Project Manager.
  • Develop knowledge of various planning techniques for JCT/NEC contracts.
  • Support collaboration with other employees to ensure works are planned and organised effectively.
  • Foster effective relationships with the supply chain to understand planning requirements.
  • Participate in knowledge share events.
  • Evaluate work success and propose improvements.
  • Optimise information distribution using the document control system.
  • Contribute to planning input for PEP documentation and client-specific documents.

Requirements: The estimated salary for this position is $75,000 per year depending on experience and location.
