Job Summary

Cafe Supervisor - Yate

We are seeking an experienced Cafe Supervisor to lead the launch of a vibrant new cafe in Yate, working in collaboration with local charities to deliver top-notch, locally sourced food to the community.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing staff, customer service, and food safety management, with a strong working knowledge of food preparation, baking, and food hygiene practices.

The Cafe Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the daily operation of the cafe, nurturing positive relationships with stakeholders, and collaborating with the cafe manager to undertake marketing and social media activities.

The ideal candidate will be flexible, willing to try new activities, and have a strong passion for making a positive impact in their local community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operation of the cafe
  • Nurture positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the cafe manager to undertake marketing and social media activities
  • Assist the Cafe Manager with stock management, planning, ordering, and recording
  • Work with the Cafe Manager to keep the project within its budget
  • Coach people to develop new skills and grow in confidence in the workplace
  • Identify preferred methods of communication for each member of the team and ensure effective communication is prioritised

Requirements:

  • A Level 2 catering/hospitality qualification
  • A Full driver's license and willingness to use own transport
  • Minimum 1 year in a supervisory position
  • Minimum 2 years of catering experience, including food preparation, baking, and food hygiene practices
  • A strong working knowledge of food safety management
  • Proven track record of managing staff
  • Customer service, including dealing with complaints or difficult situations
  • Flexible attitude, willing to try new activities
