Cafe Supervisor - Yate

We are seeking an experienced Cafe Manager or Supervisor to lead the launch of a vibrant new cafe in Yate. The successful candidate will have a passion for hospitality, a love of good food, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the local community.

In collaboration with local charities, you will deliver top-notch, locally sourced food to the community, while creating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities and Autism.

This is a part-time position working 24 hours per week, including one weekend day.

We're looking for:

  • A Level 2 catering/hospitality qualification
  • A Full driver's license and willingness to use own transport
  • Minimum 1 year in a supervisory position
  • Minimum 2 years of catering experience, including food preparation, baking, and food hygiene practices
  • A strong working knowledge of food safety and management
  • Proven track record of managing staff
  • Customer service, including dealing with complaints or difficult situations
  • Flexible attitude, willing to try new activities

Your responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operation of the cafe
  • Nurture positive and mutually beneficial relationships with all key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the cafe manager and other partners to undertake marketing and social media activities, promoting the cafe to increase sales and spread awareness of the work of the charities
  • Assist the Cafe Manager with stock management, planning, ordering, and recording
  • Work with the Cafe Manager to keep the project within its budget
  • You will coach people to develop new skills and grow in confidence in the workplace
  • You will identify preferred methods of communication for each member of the team and ensure that effective communication is prioritised
