Job Title: Digital Learning Designer

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our team as a Digital Learning Designer. As a key member of our Centre for Learning, Access and Student Success (CLASS), you will play a vital role in supporting the effective use of technology across our diverse range of academic programmes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of digital skills development opportunities for staff and students.
  • Design and deliver training sessions, including workshops, drop-ins, and bespoke sessions for small or large groups and individuals.
  • Create guidance and content to support training sessions and workshops, including materials on our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to facilitate staff and student skills development.
  • Develop promotional content, such as training session descriptions, short videos, and social media posts to engage staff and students with training and development opportunities.
  • Engage with community groups to better support innovation and best practice in digital skills development.
  • Assist with the testing, piloting, and evaluation of new and emerging technologies that can support learning and teaching at the University.
  • Collate and maintain data relating to key activities, including training attendance data, feedback, and technology-related surveys and questionnaires.
Requirements:

We are looking for an individual with good organisational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will be passionate about technology and have a knowledge of using creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite. You will be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently, with a good understanding of customer service. You will be self-motivated with a willingness to learn new skills and undertake professional development opportunities.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, with 3 A Levels or equivalent qualifications and GCSE Maths & English C/4 and above or equivalent.

This is a 20-month apprenticeship programme, where the successful applicant will undertake the Digital Learning Designer L5 apprenticeship with one of our training provider partners and will require 20% of their time (min 6 hours per week) off-the-job-learning to complete their training activities within the workplace.

The University is required to meet UKVI visa regulations, and we are not able to sponsor for this position. Applicants who do not currently have the right to work in the UK will have to satisfy UKVI regulations before they can be appointed. You must have been a UK/EEA resident for the last 3 years.
