We are pleased to be representing one of our favourite repeat clients, a Housebuilder in High Wycombe, in their search for a Senior Finance Assistant to be based at Head Office. The successful candidate will oversee Accounts Payable across the Group and assist the regional teams with troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate payments across the Group for both purchase and subcontract ledgers, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Manage cashbook and bank reconciliations for all Group bank accounts, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Control recurring and ad-hoc payments required by the business, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Collaborate with the Sales Director to update the weekly house completions roadmap, providing critical support to the business.
- Reconcile house completion statements and book revenue for the Group, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and submit Housing Association invoices, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Support the management accountant with the weekly short-term cashflow forecast for the Group, providing critical financial insights.
- Process and pay expenses for Central region, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Support the Commercial team with reallocation of costs for CVRs, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Reconcile intercompany balances and investigate any differences, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Support the Land team in reconciling their cost ledgers, providing critical financial insights.
- Group credit card reconciliation and postings, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Support the Group Financial Controller with annual audit preparations and liaise with auditors as necessary, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis as required by the Senior Finance Team and wider business, providing critical financial insights.
- Manage post and ordering office supplies, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
The Ideal Candidate
- 3+ years' experience in a similar Finance Assistant / Treasury role, with a strong understanding of financial operations and regulations.
- Ideal experience in the construction/housebuilding sector, with a strong understanding of the industry's financial requirements.
- Previous use of COINS ERP system would be highly beneficial, with a strong understanding of its functionality and applications.
- Attention to detail, ability to maintain multiple bank accounts and reports, and a strong analytical mindset.
- Able to prioritise own workload and manage time in order to meet deadlines, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- A team player with strong communication skills and a can-do attitude, with a strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Package and Benefits
- £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, with a discretionary annual bonus and private medical insurance.
