Organic Farm Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Organic Farm Manager to join our team at Ruskin Mill Trust. As an experienced professional in biodynamic agriculture, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our 9-acre market garden and ensuring the highest quality produce is delivered to our residential homes, cafe, and college kitchen.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of biodynamic principles and methodologies, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement strategies for improving crop yields and productivity, while also maintaining the health and welfare of our livestock.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the biodynamic market garden, including crop planning, planting, and harvesting.
- Develop and implement strategies for improving crop yields and productivity.
- Ensure the health and welfare of all stock on the farm, including livestock breeding, rearing, and finishing.
- Maintain accurate records of production, sales, and expenses.
- Collaborate with our team to plan and deliver training programs for staff and members of the public.
Requirements
- Experience in animal husbandry, preferably with a small holding or farm setting.
- Strong knowledge of biodynamic principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full driving licence with access to a vehicle.
