Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to join our team at Bishop Stortford Land Rover. As a key member of our Aftersales Department, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring our service and repair technicians achieve their daily targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and motivate our team of Technicians & Apprentices, proactively reviewing and prioritizing the daily workload.
- Assist the Service Manager in ensuring the department provides the best possible service to customers and achieves agreed profits and retention levels.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by implementing relevant quality checks.
- Ensure all working practices comply with company, DVSA, health and safety, and OEM policy.
- Liaise with colleagues and other departments to ensure a top-quality service for customers.
- Schedule work to meet customer needs, taking into account workshop targets, job complexity, and part availability.
- Assist with technical challenges and write technical reports as needed.
Requirements
We are looking for someone with motor industry experience managing a team in a busy Service/Workshop environment. A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent) is required, along with a solid understanding of COSHH legislation, trade practices, and consumer legislation. Awareness of quality control and inspection requirements is essential.
