We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Tax Manager to join our team at Oxford University Press. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing our group's corporate tax affairs, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and providing strategic tax advice to our business units.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the group's corporate tax affairs, including tax planning, compliance, and risk management.
- Provide strategic tax advice to our business units, including structuring business initiatives and providing tax input to acquisitions and disposals.
- Ensure compliance with local tax requirements, including managing the preparation of tax returns and dealing with resulting queries.
- Collate global data to prepare and submit Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) annually.
- Manage the group's monthly and annual tax reporting cycle, including preparing tax proofs and handling auditor queries.
- Assist with monitoring chief tax risks worldwide and managing major tax issues in conjunction with local management.
- UK tax qualified (preferably Chartered Institute of Taxation).
- Qualified accountant.
- Subject matter expert in UK tax and awareness of international taxation (tax treaties, transfer pricing etc).
- Strong communication skills – able to communicate strong financial concepts to non-financial people.
- Strong intellect – able to deal confidently with challenging people and situations. Resilient – able to stand ground whilst maintaining working relationships.
