Corporate Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Tax Manager to join our team at Oxford University Press. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing our group's corporate tax affairs, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and providing strategic advice to our business leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the group's corporate tax affairs, including tax planning, compliance, and risk management.
- Provide strategic advice to our business leaders on tax-related matters, including mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and other business initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including the preparation and submission of tax returns and other tax-related documentation.
- Monitor and manage tax risks, including reputational risks, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and HR, to ensure effective tax governance and compliance.
- UK tax qualified (preferably Chartered Institute of Taxation).
- Qualified accountant.
- Subject matter expert in UK tax and awareness of international taxation (tax treaties, transfer pricing etc).
- Strong communication skills – able to communicate strong financial concepts to non-financial people.
- Strong intellect – able to deal confidently with challenging people and situations. Resilient – able to stand ground whilst maintaining working relationships.
- Strong business understanding and commercial awareness.
