Construction Site Supervisor

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Sub Agent to join our team at VGC, working on a long-term project based in Northumberland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of railway construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee the planning and execution of railway construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all site activities comply with health and safety regulations and promote a safety-first culture among the workforce.
- Workforce Supervision: Manage site staff and subcontractors, allocating tasks effectively and ensuring work is completed according to project plans.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, communicating project progress and addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
- Quality Control: Monitor construction and maintenance work to ensure it meets the specified design standards and implement quality control processes to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, financial records, and compliance certificates.
- Resource Management: Manage the allocation of machinery, materials, and other resources to ensure the efficient operation of the site.
- Environmental Compliance: Ensure all site activities comply with environmental regulations and best practices.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans for the site.
- Continuous Improvement: Continually assess site operations to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in Rail/Station or Highways
- Degree educated in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- CSCS card
- Able to produce and explain accurate plans and drawings
Salary: Approximately £45,000 per annum (based on £450 per day)
