Sr. Technical Vehicle Expert, Fixed Term Contract (FTC), Vehicle Change Management

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Advisor to join our team as a Sr. Technical Vehicle Expert, Fixed Term Contract (FTC), Vehicle Change Management. As a key member of our Last Mile team, you will be responsible for optimizing the technical attributes of our expanding vehicle fleet and driving innovation on behalf of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Owns the optimization of technical attributes of our expanding vehicle fleet and innovates on behalf of our customers.
  2. Is capable of taking accountability and driving planning, resolution, and execution in complex technical projects.
  3. Works independently, has a strong drive to identify improvement potential, and manages projects from idea to implementation.
  4. Is comfortable challenging internal stakeholders on existing practices and external partners in their limitations and capabilities.
  5. Strong ownership and bias for action; ability to internalize goals and work independently to create appropriate action plans for those goals.
  6. Strong analytical orientation; comfort using databases and analytical tools and making data-based decisions.
  7. Strong Project management capabilities; An ability to assess risks, make decisions, manage execution, and report accordingly.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the rapidly growing Amazon Logistics organization. The Last Mile initiative is a highly visible program (internally and with our customers). As a Sr. Technical Vehicle Expert, you will be part of a small, agile, and technically astute team that makes decisions on behalf of a 30K strong fleet and positions itself as the technical voice of AMZL.

Requirements
  1. A degree in Engineering or a similar relevant field.
  2. Extensive experience in technical program management, technical development, or related technical roles in the commercial mobility (vans, trucks, buses) or the automotive industry.
  3. Experience working in x-functional teams.
  4. Experience with business reporting.
  5. Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. MBA or M.Sc. in Engineering or a similar relevant field.
  2. Strong customer focus.
  3. Experience in managing complex technical programs with multiple internal and external actors.
  4. Experience in aggregating information and communicating effectively to internal and external stakeholders, incl. Amazon senior management.
  5. A record of accomplishment in delivering results in a scrappy, fast-paced environment.
  6. A history of teamwork and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.
