Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our team at Highland Council. As a key member of our M&E Engineering Team, you will provide professional technical advice and information on all aspects of Environmental Design with respect to Mechanical & Public Health building services and its subsequent operation and maintenance within buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Principal Engineer to provide technical expertise and guidance on building services design and operation.
  • Develop and implement sustainable building services solutions that meet the Council's policies and Net Zero targets.
  • Work closely with the Design & Construction team to ensure that building services designs meet the required standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the Property Service team on building services maintenance and operation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in building services engineering.

Requirements

  • BEng(Hons) in Mechanical, Buildings Services, Energy or other relevant Engineering degree.
  • Relevant design work experience within the Built Environment at a suitable level.
  • Knowledge of Building Technical Standards, CDM Regulations, Energy Management, metering requirements, Energy Efficiency, Sustainability, Gas Regulations, F-Gas Regulations, Electricity Regulations, British Standards, CIBSE, BSRIA, WRAS, IGEM, etc.
  • Valid driving licence to enable efficient and effective travel between various workplaces and work locations within the Highlands.
