Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Field Service Engineer to join our team at Alternative Heat Ltd. As a Senior Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, repair, and optimization of commercial biomass heating installations throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks on commercial heating systems, including pumps, control valves, pressurization units, and associated mechanical and electrical services.
  • Transition quickly into the biomass sector by attending bespoke training courses and on-site learning workshops relevant to the plant being maintained.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and equipment failures, diagnosing issues and implementing repairs using own initiative engineering experience to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct servicing tasks to a high standard, ensuring legislative and contractual compliance is upheld.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed on site, via company tablet and cloud-based asset management software.
  • Provide excellent customer service, integrating with client representatives on site and building strong relations with key members of our client's team.
Requirements
  • SNVQ (or equivalent) in Commercial Plumbing & Heating and/or Electrical Installation.
  • Valid Driving License.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and heating principles.
  • Background in commercial heating systems, with experience in on-site, hands-on work.
  • Additional certifications related to heating, plumbing, or electrical disciplines.
  • Qualified in Oil/Gas Servicing (OFTEC / Gas Safe Modules).
