Job Description

KBR, Inc. is a global leader in sustainable technology solutions and government services. This role sits within the Integrated Solutions business unit, which provides engineering and project delivery services for the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.

Job Overview:

As part of the electrical engineering team, you will be involved in the design, specification, and services relating to electrical engineering for projects in the energy transition sector. This may include conceptual studies, front-end engineering design (FEED), or EPC/detailed design execution involving the procurement of equipment and detailed drawings for construction and commissioning of facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Working in a multi-disciplinary project team, collaborating with engineers from other specialisms, including mechanical, structural, civil, and instrumentation, to deliver electrical engineering solutions.
  2. Taking a proactive role in designing electrical systems to meet required specifications, focusing on cost, schedule, safety, reliability, and quality.
  3. Completing tasks allocated by the lead engineer to meet project deliverables, including creating and interpreting design specifications, data sheets, schematics, and layout drawings.
  4. Designing electrical systems for oil, gas, LNG, ammonia, hydrogen, CO2 sequestration, and other energy transition applications.
  5. Specifying electrical equipment, such as HV and LV switchgear, transformers, and UPS systems.
  6. Selecting and applying relevant codes and standards applicable to electrical systems design.

Requirements:

  1. Experience working in electrical engineering in concept/FEED/EPC project phases for energy transition projects.
  2. Interpreting technical drawings and/or creating or checking schematics or other electrical drawings.
  3. Managing electrical interfaces between packages, including GTGs and switchgear.
  4. Vendor package management (electrical and mechanical packages).
  5. Good working knowledge of electrical design at 132kV to 400V.

Educational Background:

  1. Bachelor's/Master's degree in an electrical engineering subject with relevant industry experience.
