Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our Strategic Projects Team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the commercial management of major projects, developing and implementing procurement, commercial, and contractual strategies to ensure successful project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in contract management, contractor relationship management, and line managing QS/commercial teams in a high-value project/portfolio environment. They will possess strong influencing skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to liaise with external contractors, internal stakeholders, and legal experts.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with the Project Control team to ensure timely and clear reporting throughout the business.
  • Developing and leading a Commercial Team of Quantity Surveyors and Cost Managers to manage commercial activities of Project Delivery within EPC type contracts.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective commercial working relationships with SPT and Contractor Management teams for complex major projects from inception to completion.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Contract awareness and ability to advise on alternative forms of contract and procurement arrangements.
  • Leading areas of contract and commercial management & implementation (in conjunction with Quantity Surveyors, Cost Managers, and Project Managers).
  • Commercial Management of the NEC4 suite of contracts with particular focus on Options E and C.
