We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Development Lead to join our People and Culture team at the NURSING & MIDWIFERY COUNCIL.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and maintain our HR policies, ensuring they remain relevant, accessible, and aligned with our organisational values. You will lead the continuous review and refresh of policies, focusing on equality, diversity, and inclusion.

You will work closely with HR Business Partners and HR Advisers, providing oversight and support for complex HR casework, improving colleagues' experience, particularly in accessing reasonable adjustments.

As a Policy Development Lead, you will engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, addressing key cultural challenges and contributing to creating a positive and inclusive workplace.

This role requires a proactive, skilled, and knowledgeable HR professional with a relevant CIPD qualification (or in progress) and a solid understanding of employment law and HR policies.

You should be confident in translating legal and policy frameworks into practical, actionable changes based on feedback from employees and stakeholders.

Experience in working with trade unions and other employee voice channels is essential, as you will listen to feedback, ensure it is acted upon, and communicate changes effectively across the organisation.

Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about improving the colleague experience at every stage of the employee lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy making a real difference, and be empowered to drive initiatives independently while being accountable for delivering tangible outcomes.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience
