Job Title: Insurance Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Specialist to join our team. As an Insurance Specialist, you will be responsible for handling claims, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring all claims are handled fairly and efficiently to achieve team targets in support of our business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve individual targets and key performance indicators as set and agreed.
- Notify new claims to insurers and maintain accurate claims records.
- Provide exceptional support and advice to clients ensuring high levels of service and client satisfaction.
- Identify, assess and understand claims information for particular products.
- Assess policy cover and the information required to progress claims.
- Maintain a comprehensive diary system to monitor claims progress and ensure all actions carried out are clearly recorded.
- Action correspondence quickly to avoid any delay in settlement of a claim.
- Deal with repudiated claims and understand why they have been repudiated.
- Discuss and understand how to approach complex cases before providing relevant support to clients.
- Be proactive and maximise all business opportunities making clients aware of alternative products (generating leads), advising clients of potential gaps in cover and promoting insurance reviews with clients wherever possible.
- Maintain and build on existing relationships with insurers and other third parties.
- Maintain own technical competence, including a broad knowledge of our products and the policy covers.
- Support colleagues from all areas of the business as required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience within a similar Claims orientated insurance role.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the insurance industry.
- Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in Insurance (preferred).
- Ability to work in a regulated, compliant and client focussed environment.
- Quality orientated with great attention to detail.
