Job Description

Junior/Intermediate KDB+ Developer

Key Responsibilities:


• KDB+ Database Development: Design, develop, and maintain KDB+ databases and related applications to support our high-frequency trading infrastructure.


• Data Management: Efficiently manage large volumes of real-time and historical market data, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.


• System Integration: Collaborate with front-end and back-end teams to integrate KDB+ systems with our broader technology stack, including FIX engines and low-latency trading systems.


• Optimization: Identify and implement performance improvements, optimizing both code and database structures for speed and reliability.


• Testing & Debugging: Conduct thorough testing and debugging of KDB+ code, ensuring high levels of system reliability and accuracy.


• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of development processes, system designs, and operational procedures.


• Collaboration: Work closely with senior developers, quants, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

Qualifications:


• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.


• Experience: 1-3 years of experience with KDB+/Q development.


• Experience in Financial Services: Experience in financial services or trading environments is a plus.

Technical Skills:


• KDB+/Q Proficiency: Solid understanding of KDB+ database architecture and Q programming.


• Programming Languages: Knowledge of Python, or C++ is advantageous.


• Data Handling: Strong skills in handling and processing large datasets, including time series data.


• Linux/Unix: Comfortable working in a Linux/Unix environment.


• Scripting: Experience with shell scripting and automation.

Soft Skills:


• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.


• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.


• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.


• Self-Motivation: Self-motivated with a passion for learning new technologies.
