About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Programme Planning Manager to play a key role in supporting the delivery of a substantial investment plan to develop and enhance our airport infrastructure and facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning of projects across all stages of their lifecycle, from concept approval to delivery and closeout. This includes creating and maintaining schedules, managing contract program evaluations, assessing compensation events, conducting delay analysis, and helping to drive schedule improvements through to our supply chain.

You will also contribute to the development of standards, manage, motivate, coach, and mentor team members, and review the programme to assist in trend and change processes, reporting, risk management, and finding ways to be more efficient that might positively affect programme outcomes and your teams' performance.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team of construction industry experts, you will be involved from the early stages of projects, defining technical scopes, aligning project delivery with business requirements, and ensuring these are carried through from design to construction and handover.

This is an excellent opportunity to directly observe and influence Gatwick's journey to Net Zero.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain schedules for the entire project journey, including internal and external interfaces.
  • Manage contract program evaluations, assess compensation events, conduct delay analysis, and help drive schedule improvements through to our supply chain.
  • Contribute to the development of standards, manage, motivate, coach, and mentor team members.
  • Review the programme to assist in trend and change processes, reporting, risk management, and finding ways to be more efficient that might positively affect programme outcomes and your teams' performance.
About You

We are looking for a senior planner with extensive experience of planning infrastructure projects as a Senior Planner on multi-year programmes within the construction or infrastructure sectors working on projects/programmes typically over £50 million.

You should have proven leadership and influencing skills, along with the ability to motivate, coach, facilitate, and create learning opportunities for others.
