Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist - Inherited Cardiac Conditions

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Inherited Cardiac Conditions (ICC) service, focusing on sudden cardiac death (SCD) families and patients who experience out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. The successful candidate will work with regional clinicians, pathologists, and other stakeholders to improve associated cardiovascular pathways.

The role involves coordinating clinical ICC services, working with coroners, pathologists, and intensive care units, and developing effective pathways within the sector. The post holder will participate in the strategic development of the wider ICC service, establishing relationships with key stakeholders, and actively disseminating best practice through presentations and research.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement pathways for SCD families
  • Provide clinical leadership and education
  • Conduct research and audit

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in working autonomously at an advanced level, delivering effective patient-focused care. They will also have experience in audit, research, and evidence-based care, as well as proven evidence of autonomous practice and change management.

Requirements:
  • RN1 with BSc first degree
  • Post-registration qualification in a relevant area of specialty
  • Mentorship/leadership course
  • Non-medical physical assessment course
  • Working towards a Master's degree
Skills:
  • Advanced clinical skills in specialty
  • Proven listening and counselling skills
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex data
