Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate high standards of nursing care for patients.
  • Work collaboratively with the team, supervising and directing more junior staff, and deputising for the Senior Staff Nurse as required.
  • Act as a clinical role model, driving high standards of care at all times.
  • Follow hospital policies and procedures with due care and attention.
  • Coordinate and monitor patient care, reporting any variances appropriately.
  • Ensure the correct storage and administration of medications, adhering to hospital policies and NMC Standards.
  • Practice multidisciplinary team care and contribute actively towards its successful management.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with Consultants, ensuring individual protocols are utilised.
  • Ensure supplies are adequate and equipment is in working order.
Requirements:
  • Registered General Nurse and NMC PIN required.
  • Nursing experience in a Cardiac Unit, ICU, or a Medical Ward within an acute hospital.
  • Experience of working with cardiac patients, including cardiac ablation, aortic stenosis, CABG, and heart failure.
  • Competent with ECGs, IV Administration of Drugs, CPAP, AIRVO, and PICC lines.
  • Essential with Phlebotomy and Cannulation.
  • Pleasant and cheerful manner, being supportive and approachable.
