Job Opportunity: Nephrology Specialist Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Nephrology Specialist Nurse to join our dynamic team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support complex renal admissions, including acute kidney injury and advanced chronic kidney disease, working closely with the renal medical team.
  • Develop and deliver teaching, mentoring, and supervision of other team members in the clinical setting.
  • Participate in quality improvements and contribute to the development of services and care delivery.
  • Provide support, education, and advocacy for patients through personalized care planning.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to lead and deliver the acute kidney injury service and AKI care bundle for the trust.
  • Work over weekends at Royal Liverpool Hospital, as per rota.
  • Perform duties in compliance with protocols, policies, peer review, and clinical governance.
Requirements:
  • Experience with renal replacement therapy (dialysis).
  • Computer literacy.
  • Able to travel between sites.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Root Cause Analysis skills.
