Economic Research Analyst

The National Oceanography Centre (NOC) is seeking a highly skilled Marine Economist to join their team. As a Marine Economist, you will play a crucial role in providing economic assessments of marine habitats and contributing to informed decision making regarding the management of the marine environment.
The successful candidate will integrate with multidisciplinary teams to provide economic analyses, such as natural capital assessments, cost benefit analysis, and economic evaluations of marine management interventions. You will work closely with governance, NGOs, and other stakeholders to communicate information effectively and contribute to the development of further projects in this field.
This is an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to the evaluation of various schemes that channel private finance towards marine habitat conservation or restoration. The NOC has a hybrid working approach, allowing staff to work from home up to 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide economic assessments of marine habitats and contribute to informed decision making regarding the management of the marine environment.
- Integrate with multidisciplinary teams to provide economic analyses, such as natural capital assessments, cost benefit analysis, and economic evaluations of marine management interventions.
- Work closely with governance, NGOs, and other stakeholders to communicate information effectively.
- Contribute to the development of further projects in this field.
Requirements:
- Postdoctoral research experience in a relevant field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
