Economic Research Analyst

The National Oceanography Centre (NOC) is seeking a highly skilled Marine Economist to join their team. As a Marine Economist, you will play a crucial role in providing economic assessments of marine habitats and contributing to informed decision making regarding the management of the marine environment.
The successful candidate will integrate with multidisciplinary teams to provide economic analyses, such as natural capital assessments, cost-benefit analysis, and evaluation of schemes that channel private finance towards marine habitat conservation or restoration.
You will contribute to the development of further projects in this field and engage with governance, NGOs, and other stakeholders to communicate information effectively. The postholder will also be expected to write and submit academic peer-reviewed papers and present at conferences and workshops.
The NOC has a hybrid working approach, allowing staff to work from home up to 2 days per week. The center is well connected by public transport and has ample cycle parking.
This is an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to the NOC's active engagement with governance and stakeholders, and to develop their skills in economic analysis and communication.
About YouWe are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual with a strong background in economics and a passion for marine conservation. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in economics or a related field and experience in economic analysis, particularly in the context of marine conservation. You will also have a strong publication record and be able to communicate complex economic concepts to non-technical audiences.
