Job Title: Defined Benefit Transition Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Defined Benefit Transition Specialist to join our team at Legal & General. As a key member of our Pension Risk Transfer business, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth transition of defined benefit schemes to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze scheme benefits and data to draft legal agreements that allow for proper administration by our Client Services team
  • Ensure all teams within PRT have accurate benefit specifications and data to guarantee correct benefit entitlement and scheme funding
  • Take ownership of allocated schemes, including regular reviews, prompt responses to customer communications, and provision of relevant information internally and externally
  • Support the new business origination team and Transition Managers by offering advice on administration capabilities and attending site visits to gather data quality insights
  • Ensure timely communication and maintain a full audit trail of benefit and data items throughout the onboarding process
  • Keep internal customers and relevant third parties updated on key information impacting their processing to ensure fair treatment of end customers
  • Provide customers with tailored information to understand what is being communicated, including any necessary actions or advice
Requirements:
  • Pension qualification such as CII or PMI (or equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge of pension regulations for DB schemes, including requirements for de-risking
  • Understanding of benefit structures and administration in Defined Benefit schemes
  • Ability to manage tight timescales, prioritize work, and escalate if necessary
  • Accurate and cost-effective service delivery
  • Strong understanding of team and business risks, with a desire to reduce these risks
  • Organizational skills, with project management experience highly beneficial
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer-focused approach with ability to maintain and improve relationships with internal and external customers
