Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at Michael Page Finance. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical expertise, leading the group consolidation process, and delivering insightful financial information across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis to ensure long-term business growth.
- Manage holding company accounts, including preparation of financial statements and tax returns.
- Coordinate the year-end audit process, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Offer IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) support to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Oversee compliance with the plastic packaging tax and complete and submit ONS (Office for National Statistics) surveys.
- Calculate the quarterly payments on account (POA) for Corporation Tax.
- Assist with month-end financial processes and reporting.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industry expert company.
- Strong technical skills in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
