ROLE SUMMARY

The Material Handler plays a crucial role in maintaining warehouse stock and ensuring seamless order fulfillment. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the workflow of the shipping department to prevent interruptions, delays, or stops in the process.
  • Move products constantly, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Pack, label, and stage all shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform basic accounting measures, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain strong inventory control skills, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Forklift experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with colleagues and vendors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 100 pounds to a height of 5 feet and push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
  • Ability to handle organic matter daily, wear PPE as appropriate, and be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE.
  • Ability to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise).

Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available "after hours" if an emergency situation should arise.
