About the Role

At Charles Hunter Associates, we are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team in a Residential home within a SEN school in Cranleigh. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in improving the life skills and independence of young people aged 5-19 with severe emotional and social difficulties.

We offer a competitive salary starting from £12.00 per hour PAYE and £15.22 per hour Umbrella, making this an attractive opportunity for those passionate about providing high-quality care. The estimated annual salary is approximately £25,000 based on a 40-hour workweek and 52 weeks of employment per year.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting young people with learning disabilities, mental health, or autism, promoting their emotional well-being, and helping them develop essential life skills. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant difference in their lives.

Requirements

To succeed as a Mental Health Support Specialist, you should have:
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with colleagues, young people, and their families.
  • A valid Enhanced Child and Adult DBS, demonstrating your commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
  • Self-motivation and resilience, as you will be working in a fast-paced environment with varying levels of need.
