About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Learning Mentor to join our vibrant and forward-thinking learning community. Our academy is committed to providing students with diverse Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) with the opportunity to discover new learning experiences and opportunities.

As a SEMH Learning Mentor, you will play a crucial role in delivering intervention programs to designated students, collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and Year Leaders, and assisting students in reintegrating into lessons. You will also be responsible for creating and managing behaviour profiles to establish individual behaviour targets, monitoring targets, and communicating with teachers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver intervention programs to designated students referred by the SENCO/Year Leader.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and Year Leaders to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting students with SEND.
  • Assist students in reintegrating into lessons, promoting a smooth transition and minimizing disruption.
  • Create and manage behaviour profiles to establish individual behaviour targets, monitoring progress and communicating with teachers.
  • Monitor targets and communicate with teachers to ensure effective support and progress.
  • Debrief students following incidents, providing a safe and supportive environment for reflection and growth.
