The Community Development and Wind Farm Manager will play a crucial role in the operational success of UistWind, a community-owned wind farm in North Uist.

Job Description

This exciting opportunity is for an energetic and self-motivated individual with a strong commitment to community development and community ownership. The successful candidate will have experience in partnership working, especially with community groups and stakeholders, and be skilled in communication, coordination, and facilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operational business needs of the Community Benefit Society, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements.
  • Work with the UistWind Management Committee and associated parties to maximize generation and revenue from two 900kW wind turbines.
  • Develop and implement a community development plan and a community investment plan for the UistWind community benefit fund.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be based in Uist, with a desk at the old Lochmaddy School, and will work hybrid hours. The position comes with a three-year fixed-term appointment, with the possibility of renewal for a longer term position.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • A training allowance to support personal professional development.
  • 25 days of annual leave, plus 9 public holidays.
  • An employer's monthly contribution to pension at 3% of monthly salary.
