Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead our award-winning, innovative Psychological Therapies Service, providing evidence-based treatment for individuals experiencing serious mental health problems.

About the Role:

  • Lead the provision of therapy within the Inclusion Thurrock, Psychological Therapy Service.
  • Take responsibility for the development of specific psychological therapies across the service, including leading or contributing to training, supervision, and governance aspects.
  • Ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist psychological therapy service to clients of the service team.
  • Supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychological therapists and clinical members of the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a clinical psychology service for patients with moderate to severe mental health issues within the community mental health pathway.
  • Line manage senior staff, including supervising psychology trainees, assistant psychologists, and other team members.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide guidance on risk management, ensuring patient and staff safety.

This role involves working in both office-based and remote settings, and may occasionally require travel or work in challenging environments.

Person Specification:
  • Post-graduate / Doctoral level qualification in Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychology as recognized by the Health Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Several years of post-qualification experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the life span and presenting with the full range of clinical severity in a variety of care settings.
  • Experience of the application of therapy in different cultural contexts.
