Support Companion Role

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Companion to assist Sam, a young man with a spinal injury, in accessing social and leisure activities. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life while engaging in diverse and enjoyable pursuits.

Responsibilities
  • Accompany Sam to various activities such as shopping, cinema outings, bowling, sporting events, and occasional day trips.
  • Provide support with car transfers to assist Sam in getting in and out of his wheelchair.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging environment that helps Sam build confidence and independence.
  • Engage in meaningful conversations and activities based on Sam's interests, including motorsports, cricket, film, and music.
Qualifications & Skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals and making a positive impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, tact, understanding, warmth, and compassion.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience supporting adults with spinal injuries is desirable but not essential.
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly rate: £12.50 per hour on weekdays, £13.50 per hour on weekends and bank holidays.
  • Ongoing training and support provided.
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata.
  • Free DBS check.
