Support Companion RoleWe are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Companion to assist Sam, a young man with a spinal injury, in accessing social and leisure activities. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life while engaging in diverse and enjoyable pursuits.
Responsibilities- Accompany Sam to various activities such as shopping, cinema outings, bowling, sporting events, and occasional day trips.
- Provide support with car transfers to assist Sam in getting in and out of his wheelchair.
- Foster a positive and encouraging environment that helps Sam build confidence and independence.
- Engage in meaningful conversations and activities based on Sam's interests, including motorsports, cricket, film, and music.
- A genuine passion for supporting individuals and making a positive impact.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, tact, understanding, warmth, and compassion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience supporting adults with spinal injuries is desirable but not essential.
- Competitive hourly rate: £12.50 per hour on weekdays, £13.50 per hour on weekends and bank holidays.
- Ongoing training and support provided.
- 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata.
- Free DBS check.
