Job Description for SEMH Teacher in Poole

At GSL Education, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teacher to join our team in Poole. As a SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for supporting students with different learning needs in a welcoming local school.

About the Role

The SEMH Teacher will work closely with students, colleagues, and outside professionals to create strong support plans tailored to each individual's needs. This role involves teaching engaging lessons, offering personalized support, and building positive relationships with students, parents, and carers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach interesting lessons designed to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to help students grow academically and personally.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to develop effective support plans.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and development.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and carers to promote effective communication and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in SEN education.
  • Previous experience of working in a SEN school setting.
  • Strong understanding of different SEN needs and effective strategies for supporting students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
