About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide companionship and support to an individual with Autism and hydrocephalus.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the individual in accessing activities within the local community, promoting their independence, and developing their social and life skills.

The role requires a patient, supportive, and caring individual who can work on their own initiative and maintain confidentiality.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities and a passion for making a positive impact on their lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide companionship and support to the individual
  • Assist the individual in accessing activities within the local community
  • Promote the individual's independence and develop their social and life skills
  • Work on own initiative and maintain confidentiality
  • Support the individual in engaging in activities of their choice and introducing them to new experiences
Requirements
  • Be honest, reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy
  • Be able to work on own initiative
  • Be patient, supportive, and caring
  • Have good listening skills and be able to provide non-judgmental emotional support
  • Be empathetic
  • Previous caring experience is not essential, but a genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities is required
Working Arrangements

The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly, adapting to the individual's needs on a daily basis.

Variable hours may be required, and the individual must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

The role is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure, and the successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of their qualifications and experience.
