About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Research Grants Manager to join a leading charity in London. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the charity's research grants portfolio, working closely with Trustees and senior stakeholders to deliver research funding calls and grant administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Portfolio Management: Manage the charity's active research and welfare grants, monitoring progress against milestones and outcomes, and ensuring timely reporting.
  • Research Funding Calls: Work with Trustees and Chair to deliver research funding calls to high standards, including scope definition and approval by the Board of Trustees.
  • Grant Administration: Coordinate Trustee assessment and approval of welfare grant applications, monitor expenditure against budgets, and process invoices for awarded projects.
  • Impact and Output Monitoring: Capture and monitor outputs, outcomes, and impact arising from research and welfare grants, and liaise with the marketing team to develop case studies and press releases.
  • Research Strategy Development: Lead the review and refresh of the charity's research strategy.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage and grow relationships with research grant co-funders, partners, and stakeholders, identifying new opportunities for collaboration.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in research grant administration and grant management, including managing research budgets.
  • Experience working with senior external stakeholders, preparing complex reports and papers, and grants or contract management at a senior level.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to work with multiple stakeholders, and effective communication of complex research messages.
