Medical Director and Senior Academic Lead

We are seeking an exceptional Medical Director to lead our team of Consultant Psychiatrists at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine in Carlisle, developing innovative new posts that promote cutting-edge healthcare approaches.
The role involves two main parts: a permanent position as a Consultant Psychiatrist, covering a wide range of psychiatric specialties within The Bay locality, and a 3-year honorary appointment as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine. As part of this role, you may also have the opportunity to contribute to the Consultant On Call rota, attracting additional remuneration.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of innovative new posts promoting cutting-edge healthcare approaches.
- Work closely with the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine in Carlisle.
- Develop and implement high-quality care strategies for patients in The Bay locality.
- MBBS or equivalent qualification.
- Full GMC registration and Licence to Practise.
- Section 12 approved or within 3 months.
- AC status or within 3 months.
