Spinal Injury Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Spinal Injury Support Professional to provide high-quality care and support to our clients in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland.

The successful applicant will need to have experience in spinal injury support or a strong understanding of the requirements, as well as knowledge of autonomic dysreflexia.

Due to the responsibilities surrounding the care, we can only consider applicants who have a full UK driver's license and access to their own vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with personalised routines to promote independence and well-being.
  • Completing daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility, to ensure the client's comfort and safety.
  • Administering medication and monitoring health conditions to prevent complications.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to enhance the client's quality of life.
  • Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in the client's condition to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure a holistic approach to care.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
  • Ability to deal with challenging behaviours in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature to provide high-quality care and support.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals.
  • Flexibility to work the specified hours to meet the needs of the client.
