Command Recruitment is seeking an experienced In-House Legal Advisor to join our client's growing family-led business. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the business, with a focus on contractual arrangements, consumer disputes, and commercial matters.
Key Responsibilities- Provide legal advice and support to the business on all aspects of commercial law, including contractual arrangements, consumer disputes, and insurance matters.
- Assist in the management of civil litigation claims from beginning to end, including drafting substantive responses, drafting Proceedings and Particulars of Claim/Defence.
- Liaise and negotiate with lenders on rates and terms, operating agreements, and consumer complaints.
- Advise the business on applicable legal obligations and identify and rationalize legal risk to ensure legal input to the internal governance and compliance processes.
- Contribute to the drafting of policy, process, and guidance on legal issues and prepare and deliver in-house training in your area of expertise.
- Liaise with and manage the business's external legal services provider and complete all internal and external reporting requirements.
- A qualified solicitor with experience in practice, in-house and/or private practice.
- 2+ years post-qualification experience in corporate/commercial/consumer law.
- Demonstrable experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts is essential.
- Litigation experience is preferred.
- Clear analytical skills, with the ability to process large amounts of information into effective legal proceedings.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, a confident negotiator, with an ability to influence at all levels and explain and put complex legal and technical terms into practical workable solutions.
- IT Skills, including the ability to self-sufficiently operate Microsoft Office suite and Outlook software.
- A competitive salary of £50,000.00 per year.
- A 40-hour workweek, with a 1-hour lunch break.
