Job Title: In-House Legal Counsel

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced In-House Legal Counsel to join our client's growing family-led business. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in all legal matters with a particular focus on contractual arrangements with third parties, terms and conditions, consumer disputes, insurance matters, and ad hoc property matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise the business on all legal issues relating to agreements, litigation, consumer complaints, planning, and ad hoc property projects.
  • Manage all aspects of civil litigation claims from beginning to end.
  • Liaise and negotiate with lenders as to rates and terms, operating agreements, and consumer complaints.
  • Advise the business on applicable legal obligations, identifying and rationalising legal risk.
  • Contribute to the drafting of policy, process, and guidance on legal issues.
  • Prepare and deliver in-house training in your area of expertise.
  • Liaise with and manage the business's external legal services provider.

Requirements:

  • A qualified solicitor with experience in practice - in-house and/or private practice.
  • 2+ years post-qualification experience in corporate/commercial/consumer law.
  • Demonstrable experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.
  • Litigation experience is preferred.
  • Clear analytical skills, with the ability to process large amounts of information into effective legal proceedings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, a confident negotiator, with an ability to influence at all levels.
  • IT Skills, including the ability to self-sufficiently operate Microsoft Office suite and Outlook software.

Working Hours and Pay:

  • Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year.
  • Hours: 40 per week (9-6pm with 1 hour for lunch).
