Job Title: Strategic Education Co-ordinator for Children in Care
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Education Co-ordinator to join our team at Leeds City Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that children looked after (CLA) have high-quality personal education plans (PEPs) that promote their educational attainment and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- To develop and implement effective PEPs that meet the needs of CLA, working closely with designated teachers, social workers, and other stakeholders.
- To gather and analyse data on CLA's learning progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to accelerate their learning.
- To work with schools and settings to ensure that CLA have access to high-quality education and support services.
- To advise schools on the effective use of Pupil Premium Plus funding to support CLA's learning.
- To contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to CLA's education and well-being.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience of working with CLA and developing PEPs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of local authority policies and procedures related to CLA's education and well-being.
